Cell & Molecular Biology

Welcome! I’m a budding research scientist specializing in cellular, molecular, and developmental biology, with a keen interest in transcriptomics and neuron development regulatory mechanisms. Currently, my research is guided by Dr. Dana Tucker at the University of Central Missouri. Additionally, I assist Dr. Nick Barts in the integrative-organismal biology laboratory. Before this, I explored vision research at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, concentrating on endocrine disorders in mitochondrial disease and retinal ganglion cell physiology. I’ve also worked as a secondary science teacher, instructing students in biology, earth science, chemistry, and physics.

I have a strong interest in bioinformatics, quantitative methods, data science, and programming language design, often working with both compiled languages (Go, Haskell, C) and interpreted languages (R, Racket, Scheme, Python). Beyond my technical pursuits, I’m fascinated by the philosophy of science and mathematics, along with history. I’d love to hear your book and podcast recommendations!
